Laser therapy is a safe and effective therapy that is FDA cleared for the temporary relief of pain and reduction of symptoms associated with mild arthritis and muscle pain. Laser treatment also promotes relaxation of muscle spasm and promotes a temporary increase in local circulation.
Laser Therapy Products West, Inc. does not condone or support non-FDA cleared uses of the K-Laser without proper informed consent and potential Investigational Review Board (IRB) approval using established guidelines for an investigational procedure.

Guidelines for Posting your Laser Case Study
- Please ensure that any patient identification or identifying features such as a face view are eliminated from the case study, unless you have obtained a written release from the patient.
- Neuromusculoskeletal conditions fall within accepted FDA cleared use. Wound healing, superficial infections and other non-approved uses will be posted on a case-by-case basis after review. Observational studies and investigational studies should not have sweeping conclusions or exaggerated claims.
- By posting your case study Laser Therapy Products West, Inc. is not endorsing or claiming any responsibility for the misappropriate use, exaggerated claims or improper recording of techniques or outcomes. We rely on your intellectual honesty.
- You give K-Laser unrestricted copyright license to use this study for research and /or marketing in all media and all distributions. You also allow us to edit the case study and create derivative materials.
- You indemnify K-Laser from liability for damages resulting from incorrect conclusions or improper technique recording in publishing your study.
General Case Study Format
- Case History: Give a few sentences on the onset and history of the complaint. Report the prior treatment history as well.
- Physical Findings: Report the objective findings and observed clinical condition. Comment on diagnostic imaging or submit JPG images of the condition before treatment. (Images should be at least 300 DPI.) Include relative lab work or diagnostic conclusions.
- Laser Protocol: Record the laser settings and time duration with estimated total joules delivered.
- Treatment Protocol: Record the technique and areas treated, i.e.; direct contact vs. scanning technique. How many seconds per grid point. Anatomical structures treated and target tissues treated. Treatment frequency how many days a week or month.
- Treatment Outcome: Report the response to treatment in a serial fashion with outcome measures if appropriate. (ROM, muscle strength, pain levels, functional capacity, etc.)
